Columbus is rich with parks. The city designates three specific parks as dog parks, with fenced in areas for
dogs, usually having separate areas for big and little dogs. Those parks are: Big Walnut Dog Park, Three Creeks
Dog Park at Sycamore Fields, and Wheeler Dog Park. A few other popular dog spots that are not “official” dog
parks include Schiller Park in German Village, Gooddale Park in Victorian Village, and Glen Echo Ravine in the
University District/Clintonville.
Columbus Boutique Pet Stores
Posh Pets is a high-end boutique specializing in
pet furniture, apparel, super premium foods. The owner, Jo, also features many locally made products, including
dog beds, treats, and clothing.
Once Upon a Pet is a second-hand pet store offering both gently used and new pet products.
Newly opened in August of 2010, they plan to eventually offer dog services as well, including dog grooming.
Mutts & Co. is a boutique/self-serve dog wash/dog grooming shop that offers high quality pet
products, including food, toys, clothing, health and beauty aids, and bakery treats. The also offer self- and
full-service dog grooming.
The City Dog is a daycare, grooming, training facility conveniently located downtown for the
busy professional. In addition to their daycare, grooming, and training services, they offer a nice selection of
high quality and affordable items for the needs of any urban canine.
Columbus Dog Friendly Bars
Gresso’s is a bar in German Village that holds Pups on the Patio every Tuesday from 5pm to
close. They offer free dog treats to all four-legged patrons.
The Lodge Bar, located in the arena district, occasionally holds Dogs on the Deck, which
is a charity event for Capital Area Humane Society. They ask for a donation of dog treats, food, toys, or
leashes. Free to attend and they offer drink specials and dog treats.
Columbus Dog Friendly Restaurants
Gresso’s offers a large menu including burgers, pizza, and some of the best pierogies you’ll
ever taste. On Tuesdays join them for Pups on the Patio from 5pm to close.
Black Creek Bistro is located in Downtown Columbus and offers seasonal selections featuring
local crops. Much of their waste is reclaimed, including used oil for fuel and cardboard shredded and used as
animal bedding then composted. Feel right about eating out. The outdoor seating always welcomes canine
guests.
