There are a lot of dog friendly beaches in San Diego, and with amazing weather year round, you can always make a day of going to the beach with your pooch, or a short trip to a local park. The Dog Beach at Ocean Beach is free to use and on the weekends you can find more than 100 dogs playing together on a busy Saturday. This is the most popular Dog Beach in San Diego and there is always a crowd. If you are looking to avoid crowds you might want to head over to Mission Bay's Fiesta Island. It is entirely leash-free and usually the least crowded of all dog beaches in the San Diego area.

Sign up for the "Pet Program" and they will provide you with dog food, treats, a water bowl and a dog bed. If you are looking for a dog friendly hotel right in downtown San Diego the Westin Hotel - Gaslamp Quarter allows pets up to 50 pounds to stay in room and they provide lots of wonderful dog amenities for your pet.

Tecolote Canyon is a great place to take your dog. Even though dogs must remain on leash in this park it is still a beautiful place for a walk.

This hand made dog treat bakery provides some of the healthiest treats for your pet available.The Horton Plaza Shopping Center is a fantastic open air shopping center with a large variety of stores. There aren't any pet stores here, but it is great for window shopping with your four legged friend.
