San Diego Dog Beaches

There are a lot of dog friendly beaches in San Diego, and with amazing weather year round, you can always make a day of going to the beach with your pooch, or a short trip to a local park. The Dog Beach at Ocean Beach is free to use and on the weekends you can find more than 100 dogs playing together on a busy Saturday. This is the most popular Dog Beach in San Diego and there is always a crowd. If you are looking to avoid crowds you might want to head over to Mission Bay's Fiesta Island. It is entirely leash-free and usually the least crowded of all dog beaches in the San Diego area.

San Diego Dog Friendly Hotels

The US Grant Hotel (326 Broadway, between 3rd and 4th)is the most dog friendly hotel in all of San Diego. Sign up for the "Pet Program" and they will provide you with dog food, treats, a water bowl and a dog bed. If you are looking for a dog friendly hotel right in downtown San Diego the Westin Hotel - Gaslamp Quarter allows pets up to 50 pounds to stay in room and they provide lots of wonderful dog amenities for your pet.

San Diego Dog Parks

Tecolote Canyon is a great place to take your dog. Even though dogs must remain on leash in this park it is still a beautiful place for a walk.

The Rhinoceros Cafe and Grill is a gourmet bistro that is known for being extremely dog friendly.Kemo Sabe features exquisite Pan-Asian food. It has a patio that is extremely dog friendly. You can see dog owners taking in a meal with their canine companions here year round. If you are in the Pacific Beach area of San Diego stop by Veloce Caffe and Bistro (4452 Ingraham St, near Ingraham and Grand).

If you are looking to really pamper your pooch, take them to The Original Paw Pleasers. This hand made dog treat bakery provides some of the healthiest treats for your pet available.The Horton Plaza Shopping Center is a fantastic open air shopping center with a large variety of stores. There aren't any pet stores here, but it is great for window shopping with your four legged friend.
